home envy.

Hello all! Hope everyones day went well today. Today was such a busy day for me, but all my work consisted on the computer, so at the same time - I felt like I did nothing at all. Tonight had a poor ending for me when my iPhone cracked in the back. Blah! Just one of those silly mistakes that ruins your whole night. Praying for favor tomorrow to get it replaced without costing me much.

But we all know some good home inspiration is all I need to make my feel better. So heres to that!

DIY - Flower hair clip

So tonight, I thought i'd share with you a little DIY you might enjoy. A sweet little flower clip that just might brighten your day.

I also used this template to make myself a little hair clip that doubled as a shirt clip. (seen below) I would also love to make a belt with some big flowers on it soon - similar to these.  Another idea is groomsmen's boutonnières - which is something one my of good friends, Amy is doing for her wedding this coming November.
Hope everyone has a sweet evening! Keep your prayers with my family as well as other families in North Carolina, as we are supposed to be experiencing quite the hurricane tomorrow. Goodness, a hurricane and an earthquake all in one week. Thankfully, I have my pre-stocked cookies, celebrity magazines and bottled green tea just incase we lose power and have to fend for ourselves.

recent work - pilgrims blog.

I recently had the amazing opportunity to work with a sweet blog follower of mine, Paige, in creating her blog header, blog button, etsy logo and photography logo. Paige had an amazing vision and I'm so happy I could help her in having it come to life!

Mosey on over to both Paige's blog and etsy. She makes the most beautiful bags! (featured below)

Besides that, things have been pretty hectic around here. Which is one reason I havn't been able to blog as much recently. Promise that will all change soon! One crazy thing (which is old news now) is that we had an earthquake yesterday. We felt it here in North Carolina. I realized my entire house was shaking at one point - my first thought was a helicopter was landing on my house (don't ask why that was my first thought), then I looked outside to see the UPS guy pulling into my driveway. I thought, "surely the UPS truck isn't making my house rumble". Right away, thanks to twitter and Facebook - I learned that everyone else felt the shake. It was quite the scary, yet thrilling experience. I'm happy America is safe and we made it through. I am also kinda happy I felt it, because I know if I didn't - I would have felt so left out! :)

Oh yes, and I still am promising that DIY post. Perhaps later today or tomorrow, depending on how much time I have on my hands this afternoon.

wishlist.

have been in love with the beauty for awhile.

how beautiful is this? twigs + honey make the most beautiful hair pieces. I would die to wear this pretty on my wedding day.

oh oh oh, i want you!

this bag is the sweetest. Reminds me of the lovely Brittney, who is living the dream in England as we speak.

this dress caught my eye not too long ago. Ive never been so tempted to spend so much on a dress. it is a dream!

just to add to my crochet obsession.

Hope everyones having a great week! Check back later on for some sweet little DIY posts.

twenty three.

Today (well sorta today, its passed midnight at this point - but who's counting?) I celebrated my 23rd birthday. Im not a huge fan of turning 23. It seems old to me. Although, I know its not at all. For some reason odd birthdays just are no fun to me. 22 is fun - and I think i'll like 24. But all the odd years to come just seem plain old boring. I know this is a silly thought, but i just had to say it. :)

Aside from this being an "odd" birthday year, I really am excited about this next year of my life. 22 was a hard year for me. But at the same time, a great one! I grew up a lot in 22. Had to deal with things I never thought i'd deal with. Despite 23 sounding not so fun to me, I think God has big things planned for me this year. I'm excited to be in the place I am at in life right now. I feel something big coming around the corner for me. All I have to do is be patient, trust in the Lord and give life my all.

So cheers to a new year and new beginnings!

p.s. Heres my birthday cake, along with my birthday cake topper. Yep, I made my own topper - so what?!

beach days.

Off to the beach for a few days with family and friends. Excited for beach strolls, sandcastles (yep, still make em!), shrimp dinners, relaxing pool side, burying my feet in the sand, ice cream dates, seashell hunts, snacks on the beach and early morning get-ups for the sake of seeing the sunrise. Back in a few days!

crochet it.

Lately, I've been in love with all things crocheted. Something about this trend just hits the spot with me. Here are some lovelies that have struck my eye recently. I might have to make a part 2 of this post soon. There's just too many crocheted beauties to fit into one post.
